The toy train’s engine was built in 1979 and was operated for a few years in the Bangalore Bal Bhavan before being transported to Mangaluru.

The train was first introduced in 1982, and it was operated by the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC). Later, the Balbavan Society, which is part of the Women and Child Development Department, was tasked with resuming the park’s toy train service.
