As per the State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), a mild-intensity quake measuring 2.7 on the Richter Scale impacted Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur district on Wednesday. As per authorities, the tremors were felt for 3 seconds in Shettigere, Addagal, Beeraganahalli, Gollahalli, and Bogaparti villages in the early hours.
The villagers, on the other hand, reported having felt the earthquakes three times. Most of the people slept outside their homes at night. Many houses’ walls have been destroyed, as per the residents. The residents reported feeling the vibrations. Household items tumbled from shelves, and many were forced to go to their homes. Two earthquakes with magnitudes of 2.9 and 3.0 were recorded in Chikkaballapur on December 22, 2021.
