Within seven days Udupi district administration has plans to operate a precautionary dose of vaccination to all healthcare and frontline workers. The district has 23,125 healthcare workers and 7,311 frontline workers, who are eligible to receive the precautionary dose of vaccine against Covid-19. The district is also gearing up to administer the third dose of vaccine to those above 60.
Deputy commissioner M Kurma Rao said he has already directed officials of the health department to make necessary arrangements to complete the precautionary vaccine drive, within a week, from Monday. Those who completed 9 months after taking the 2nd dose of Covaxin or Covishield are eligible to take the 3rd shot of the same vaccination.
DHO Dr.Kishore Kumar M said that beneficiaries need not register again to avail the precautionary dose of vaccine. They may fix an appointment online, or walk into their nearest vaccination center directly, to receive the dose, in addition to government hospitals and PHCs, separate vaccination camps will be held for them in all the taluk and district headquarters. Meanwhile, separate camps will also be held for the police and revenue departments.
