As government limitations have been lifted, the tourist, food, and beverage industries have begun to thrive in the coastal regions. There was a weekend curfew, 50% occupancy, and no Christmas or New Year’s celebrations, so the industry took a hit. As per industry stakeholders, business is returning to normal with the elimination of restrictions and weekend curfews.
In the region, all of the beach properties are completely operational. Due to regulations, the beaches were desolate on weekends, but they have come alive this week. However, when all of the school and college tests are over, the full flow of tourists may be expected. Overall, the easing of restrictions has given the business a boost, per the proprietor of Foodland Hotel.
The local tourism industry is limping back to normal, but industry stakeholders want the country to throw open the doors of international travel. At the moment, flights to foreign countries are operating under air-bubble agreements. They need some government schemes for our industry’s recovery.
