Mangalore University To Introduce Job Oriented Courses

  Under the National Education Policy-2020, Mangalore University has planned to bring three integrated job oriented courses.

  The courses were approved on the recently held fourth academic council meeting. “We will add a few more in the coming academic year. These courses are job-oriented,” PS Yadapadithaya, the vice-chancellor, said. 

  An admission review committee has been formed to discuss courses to be added under the NEP. According to initial plans, the varsity plans to start job-oriented courses on its campus in Belapu. The list of courses and their advantages will be presented before the syndicate meeting once it is finalised. 

  The courses introduced are focused on what has a high demand in the current job market. Courses in chemistry, microbiology, forensic sciences and others are being planned.

  Recently, under the National Education Policy-2020, MU had proposed five-year integrated courses in MBA in health, safety and environment (HSE), integrated MCom in business data analytics and an integrated post-graduate degree programme in electronics (IPGE). All these programmes have ten semesters.
