DK To Have Industries Around In 1000 Acres, Says Murugesh Irani

  Dakshina Kannada is going to have new industries, As Minister of large and medium industries, Murugesh Irani said that 1,000 acres will be acquired in Balkunje, Kollur, and Ulepady in Dakshina Kannada, for the setting up of new industries.

  He told the media here on Sunday, that the government owns about 145 acres in the region. “A committee headed by the deputy commissioner will fix the price for the land to be acquired. The setting up of industries in the acquired land will help in generating 5,000 jobs. 

  “The state government will extend 75% subsidy to budding entrepreneurs from economically weaker sections, who are planning to commence startups. Earlier, the subsidy was given only to entrepreneurs from SC and ST communities. However, the government has recently decided to extend the benefits to those from economically weaker sections too,” Nirani said. 

  “All the ‘D’ group employment should be reserved for local candidates. “In addition, 70 % of the total,” Nirani said to a query on employment for locals in the industries, 

  The Karnataka government’s ‘Udyami Aagu, Udyoga Needu’ (become an entrepreneur, provide jobs) outreach programme for educated youth and budding entrepreneurs will be held in Mangaluru in May. Meanwhile, ‘Kaigarika (industries) Adalat’, an initiative to redress grievances of the industries instantly, will also be held here in May.
