Last Sunday, the tentative Kambala meet schedule for the districts of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Kasargod was released. After the District Kambala Committee meeting at Moodabidri, the timetable was made public.

Shirva Kambala is scheduled to start the Kambala season on November 5, 2022. Up until April 8, 2023, a total of 24 Kambala competitions will take place. Panapila has this time been included as a new Kambala location.

The date of the Kambala in Pilikula in Mangaluru has been set for November 12. The district administration has not yet made a decision in this matter, though. After being put on hold for a few years, Kambala in Pilikula is reportedly eager to be organised this time.

The COVID-19 outbreak had hampered the organisation of the typical rural sports event. Due to the weekend curfew and other COVID restrictions, the Kambala contest had to be temporarily cancelled last year after only five of the 18 contests. Later, in February, once the weekend curfew was lifted, it was resumed.
