Twelve young individuals with comparable interests, the majority of whom were daily wage earners, got together to build a 200 square foot crib at Maladi hamlet in Belthangady for Christmas. Taking the initiative on this endeavour was daily wage worker Praveen Poojary, who remarked, “Without regard to our faith, we observed all festivals when we were young and lived in peace with our neighbours. When Christmas came around,”I used to see the cribs that Christian families built and I was always mesmerised by them. I’ve always wished I could build a crib.” Former taluk panchayat member Joyal Mendonca agreed to provide me with space close to his home when I told him about this plan, he added.
They have been working every day from 6 p.m. until 12 a.m. for the past ten days. “This crib stands out because we made a special effort to make it appear as natural as possible. In our village, we utilized actual cows, goats, bunnies, pigeons, and plants “Poojary said. According to Praveen, their objective is to honour the genuine essence of any celebration.
