Navyug Udupi Tollway Pvt Ltd announces toll rate hike from April 1 at three plazas

Starting from April 1, the Navyug Udupi Tollway Pvt Ltd has announced an increase in the toll charges at three toll gates in Talapady, Hejmady, and Gundmi. The revised rates vary according to the vehicle type and the number of axles. For instance, at the Gundmi toll plaza, car owners will have to pay Rs 60 for a one-way trip and Rs 85 if they return on the same day. The monthly pass for a maximum of 50 trips per month will cost Rs 1930. Similarly, for heavy vehicles with multiple axles and construction machinery, the one-way charge will be Rs 310 and Rs 460 for a two-way trip. The monthly pass for such vehicles will cost Rs 10,255.

The Hejmady toll plaza will charge Rs 50 for a one-way trip for light vehicles and Rs 75 for a same-day return. The monthly pass for 50 trips per month will cost Rs 1640. For heavy vehicles with multiple axles and construction machinery, the one-way charge will be Rs 260 and Rs 390 for a two-way trip. The monthly pass for such vehicles will cost Rs 8720.

The Talapady toll plaza will charge Rs 50 for a one-way trip for light vehicles and Rs 75 for a same-day return. The monthly pass for 50 trips per month will cost Rs 1720. For heavy vehicles with multiple axles and construction machinery, the one-way charge will be Rs 250 and Rs 370 for a two-way trip. The monthly pass for such vehicles will cost Rs 8250.

Moreover, for the 2023-24 fiscal year, residents living within a 20 km radius of all three toll plazas will be charged Rs 330 per month for non-commercial vehicles. The increase in toll charges is likely to affect regular commuters who will have to shell out more money for their daily commute.
