30 Crore Citizens Who Will Be Vaccinated First Against Covid-19 Announced

As talks about Covid – 19 vaccination is on the table, the government has decided that as soon as the vaccination gets its necessary approval, the first people to receive the large scale immunisation will be those 30 crore indians who are listed as per information from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The recommendations for the mentioned 30 crore Indians were made by the National Expert group on vaccine administration. 1 crore health workers who work in both government as well as private hospitals, 2 crore frontline workers from state and Central police departments, armed forces, home guard and civil defence organization and also disaster management volunteers and municipal workers are included in the list.   The rest of the 27 crore in the list are the general population who fall in the priority groups are included in the aforementioned figure. This priority group means that these persons are above the age of 50 years and people below 50 years with associated comorbidities. This information was given by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan.

Preparations for making sure that the Covid-19 vaccine will be made available soon are being done by the Centre  in association with states and Union territories. This includes a list for priority vaccination, preparing for  cold-chain infrastructure for storage of vaccine vials, and including additional vaccinators for smoothly executing of Covid-19 immunisation. 

Presently, the cold chain system organised to store vaccines consisting of 85,634 equipment is placed at around 28,947 cold-chain points across India.
