This river tourism concept was initially proposed by former IAS officer Sasikanth Senthil when he was the DC of Dakshina Kannada. The brand new Samruddhi water sports club located in the city limits is to be  inaugurated early in the month of this January, informs one of the partners of this project. The Phalguni river banks en route to Tannirbhavi Beach will become the infrastructure base for this venture.

The details of this novice water sports club as per the report is said to have four Kerala-design boats with the capacity to accommodate 25 enthusiasts. But due to the covid pandemic this number has been regulated to 12 tourists per boat. These boats will traverse from Kuloor to Ullal and Maravoor. Family and friends can also enjoy the four seater boats, which would also be an addition in this venture. The club will also include houseboats, various  water sports and all these adventurous activities with the ‘safety first’ aim. Precautionary measure keeping this pandemic in mind plus government guidelines to avoid the spread are the priority in this venture.

The committee of this initiative has decided the entrance fee of Rs.50/- per head  plus separate coupons for the water sport activities. The overall of 3.5 acres of land is leased for five years from the district administration. This water sport club landscape will be the brainchild of artist Dinesh, with ample parking space, food court , lawn with resting places , angling spots and photo zones.

Water sports will be entertained between 9.30am to 6.30pm and evenings will be filled with cultural programmes rich with tulunadu’s traditions.Apart from this there will also be spaces for birthday celebrations especially from orphanages, specially abled schools and others. This projected is estimated upto Rs.1.3 crores budget and is emphasized to increase the tourism of the coastal city.

With such tourist attractions to come indeed there will be hype in tourism and also spread of our culture to other places and people.
