State Government Issues New Guidelines As The Covid Cases Surge

The rapid acceleration of the number of covid cases in the state has become a reason for anxiety. Taking this into consideration the Government of Karnataka has issued new and stricter guidelines as a precautionary measure to curb the pandemic. The state has observed 4991 new covid cases on 2nd April, Friday.

As per the government norms the classes for students of 6-9 will be suspended. Similarly gyms, swimming pools are to remain close Dharnas, rallies are prohibited. Even in the upcoming festivals no gatherings will be entertained. This order issued by the Karnataka secretary will hold good till April 20th.

The highlights of the order as per the Karnataka government guidelines include, that the classes of 10th, 11th and 12th can continue as they are making the attendance non mandatory. The classes for the higher and professional courses are to be suspended except for those having Board/University exams of Health Sciences. 

All residential schools are to be closed except 10th, 11th and 12th students, also professional courses. The number of people in public transport shouldn’t exceed it’s seating capacity. The work from home must be continued where ever possible. 

The special care and strict norms should be followed in districts of Bangalore Urban, B’lore rural (BBMP) , Mysuru, Kalburgi, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Bidar, Dharwad where the cases are hiking every day. So the public hotspots like restaurants, pubs, clubs, bars will run at 50% of their capacity. Also the theatres will follow the alternate seating pattern with 50% capacity utilization. 

The shopping malls, closed markets are to operate but with the public following the Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB). The enforcement of compulsory mask wearing, use of sanitizers and handwashs are a must. If violated the whole area will be sealed close till the Covid epidemic subsides. This will continue till April 20th, until further notification.
