CAMPCO, or the Central Arecanut Cocoa Marketing Processing Cooperative Limited, was founded in 1973 by Arecanut Growers from Karnataka under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act. The company’s headquarters is in Mangalore, and it has branches all across India. The company started a chocolate plant in Puttur, Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district, in 1986. Chocolates and other cocoa-based products are produced at the factory for both its own brand and Nestle.
For the first time in Mangalore, Campco Chocolates also known as the Central Arecanut Cocoa Marketing Processing Cooperative Limited is introducing a Hazelnut Choco Spread. It works well with bread, toast, chapati, cream fillings, cake toppers, and ornamental chocolates and even dosa. Ice cream manufacturers also use this new product in the production of cakes and pastries by ice cream manufacturers. This chocolate-flavored spread is made with cocoa, vegetable oil, milk, sugar, and flavorings paste.

“The toffee,” explains Campco President Kishor Kumar Kodgi, “has an exterior shell of caramel and a center pouring high-quality cream complimented with jackfruit powder.” The Jackfruit Eclair is one such experiment. It would be launched in the Karnataka market initially, before being spread to the rest of the country.
