Clock tower not functioning properly

Due to poor upkeep, one of the city’s most notable attractions, the Clock Tower, which was constructed at cost of one crore rupees, is inoperable.
water accumulating in the fountain, and there are several mosquitoes hovering around.
Plastic and textile debris are also seen in the water. foul odour emanates from the location
The renovation of the ancient Clock Tower began in 2018 despite the public’s opposition to the squandering of tax dollars.
But, after completion, the illumination and colourful fountain enhanced Clock Tower’s appeal.
In 1968, the original Clock Tower was constructed so that people could tell time.
The tower’s bells used to ring every hour.
Unfortunately, it was demolished in 1994 owing to traffic congestion, and replacement one began construction in 2018 but has not yet been officially inaugurated.“According to officials, three pipes attached to the fountain of the clock tower have been stolen.
Several others are harmed. The three stolen pipes have coloured lights utilising German technology. According to Linge Gowda, the executive engineer of Smart City, the water supply to the fountain has been switched off.
“This is the second time the pipes have been compromised. In addition, the area surrounding the fountain is littered with trash and filth. “A grill and netting will be erected around the fountain to prevent this,” he stated.
