After experiencing an all-time high on the 18th of September with a total of 456 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths due to the same, the number of cases in the district has been below 100 for the past week starting from November 1. An average of 82 cases is now reported from the district on a daily basis.
However, on the 3rd of November, a total of 123 new cases were reported in the district. The numbers have been on a constant low afterward. As of now, there are around 1000 cases and the district has also been seeing more cases of recovery as compared to cases of contracting the virus. Against the average of 82 cases of persons contracting the virus, the district has been seeing an average recovery rate of 184 people within a day. In the last week alone, 1,294 people have recovered from the virus and have returned to their day-to-day lives.
When the virus arrived in the district on the 22nd of March a total of 30,747 cases have been reported after conducting 2,70,039 tests. Of the aforementioned 30,747 cases recorded, 28,934 have recovered from the virus. However, there has been a total of 686 deaths till the 6th of November.
The reason behind the district seeing a lesser number of COVID-19 cases is due to the constant surveillance by the district Family Health and Welfare Department. At least 3000 tests are being conducted per day and precautions regarding the spread of the virus along with its dangers are also being imparted to the people of the district on a regular and consistent basis.
