Covid Time Wedding Norms

Start of summer holidays is also the season of marriages. But with the second wave of covid round the corner it is difficult to follow and enjoy the normal wedding bash. So to make it the Covid way the state government has pitched in a few must follow norms to attend wedding parties.

The must carry items to any wedding include the invitation card, ID proof, soft copy of the permission letter from local authorities during a weekend curfew. The guests of any covid time marriages will have a lot on their hands, at the least till May 4th.

Only the lucky 50 members may attend a marriage ceremony, abiding to the norms of Covid appropriate behavior(CAB). The DC of the district of Dakshina Kannada has made a mandate to submit a list of 50 people, including photographers, videographers, priests while organizing the wedding to the PDO’s or Urban local bodies to get the permission letter. This permission letter is to be circulated to the 50 people on the list.

The person with the invitation card(hard copy) can only attend the wedding, with the soft copy of permission letter and the hard copy of the ID proof.

Respecting these norms the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala has cancelled its annual Mass wedding programme to be held on April 29th.Following the CAB the Dharmadhikari requested the couples to have a simple marriage in their hometowns due to the pandemic. The SKDRDP is striving its best to provide the items like sarees, dhotis, mangalsutras to the couples across the state.

Though the norms are stringent, it’s for the best. Indeed the hard times instil humility.
