With the ongoing third phase of covid vaccination campaign, the people are responding optimistically and participating actively in this drive. Asa part the 66 primary health centres (PHCS) in the District of Dakshina Kannada started vaccinating the citizens above 45 years of age with the Covidshield vaccination.
More than 30 private hospitals are serving the public with the covidshield vaccination from March 8th onwards. This administration of third phase vaccination will be till March 19th. The further technicalities of future vaccinations will be taken in due course of time, informed the district health officer.
The district deputy commissioner also has alerted the officials in the borders of Maharashtra and Kerala. The officials are to be careful regarding the entry of any new cases. The gram panchayat task forces are to monitor the entry of people coming into the state from these two states and necessary precautionary tests are to be conducted. The DDC has furthered addressed the officials to appoint one Marshall each to create covid awareness especially at weddings and other functions. This Marshall will spread information on the importance of wearing masks and social distancing.
