On July 21, 190 Covid-19 cases were reported in Dakshina Kannada, with a positive rate of 2.4 per cent. With six deaths, the total number of deaths rose to 1,381. There are currently 1,956 active cases. At the primary health centres located at Sullia taluk- Kodlamogaru, Panja, and Bellary centers ,the meeting was conducted by the nodal officer with the officials and health workers of the concerned taluk.

As per the nodal officer, even if the number of daily Covid-19 instances decreases, now is not the time to relax our watch, the ring surveillance is being conducted, which requires all of a patient’s key contacts to submit to testing. A team is led by the nodal officer from a PHC, technician, and staff nurse travelling great distances to collect swabs in some of the rural areas, despite the rain and no adequate road access to homes.
