The district deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada gave orders to booth-level officers to visit houses within their domains, equipped with a copy of the voter lists. This command was given at a virtual discussion regarding stepping up the district’s vaccination campaign. The meeting was attended by officials and other staff members.
The duty of booth-level election officials (BLOs) is to ensure that the names of qualified voters are recorded in the voter list. If there are people over the age of 18 who have not yet registered to vote, the BLOs must fill out Proforma 6 to include them. In the event of sick people, their vaccination status should be obtained, and if they have not been vaccinated, the party responsible should be contacted to arrange for vaccination. Health officers also recommended that frontline workers receive a booster dose nine months after receiving the second dose of polio vaccination.
