Devotees entering temples during Dasara must have a vaccination certificate.

The district administration has made a Covid-19 vaccination certificate necessary for worshipers entering temples as the coastal area prepares for the Dasara and Navaratri festivals, which begin on October 7. Temple committees have been asked by the district government to make arrangements with separate taluk health officers to set up vaccination centres on temple grounds for those worshippers who arrive without having received the vaccine.

The temple’s health department will set up vaccination booths. The public should not congregate in large numbers during the event, adding that processions and public gatherings will not be permitted.

Cultural events can be organised by restricting people’s access to auditoriums to 50% of their seating capacity. For people’s convenience, festival planners should prepare live transmission through various media. Temples should also install digital display panels so that worshippers can view rites and programmes from afar, according to the DC.
