Surathkal is going to have an interesting tourism project soon. A huge saline water pool will be built near Surathkal beach for those who want to have fun and indulge in the salt water of the sea without any danger.
The saltwater pool will be built alongside the sea water but without the danger of waves splashing directly. This will include water slide and artificial waves. The pool is completely safe. Even children can play in water without any danger. The plan of the pool is yet to be made ready.
In addition to the pool, the project also intends to build a beautiful garden and Kandla forests by the forest department at a cost of Rs two crore. There will also be entertainments of fantasy park at the spot. Arrangements will be made for road, toilets, changing rooms and parking of vehicles.
Various developmental works at a cost of Rs seven crore will take place in order to give more stress on tourism at Surathkal beach. MUDA will provide Rs five crore while forest department will shell out the other two crore.
MLA Dr Bharat Shetty Y said, “We are going to have Blue Flag beach at Tannirbhavi and in Panambur development of beach through PPP (Public-Private participation). Also, in Surathkal beach government land will be utilized to develop beach in a unique manner. As the CRZ rules are relaxed more opportunities are created for building beach resort, home stay and self-employment.”
