Heavy rains are predicted in Coastal Karnataka over the next five days till October 17th by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The city will continue to have a gloomy sky with a shift and strong surface breezes. The IMD has also forecasted significant rainfall in several parts of Karnataka, including the districts Udupi, Dakshina Kannada. A yellow signal has been issued, suggesting isolated heavy rain (64.5 mm to 115.5 mm) with the prediction showing severe rainfall in Bengaluru and other areas of the state over the next several days.
Mangalore is expected to get moderate to heavy rainfall through October 17th, as per current synoptic conditions. It has forecast scattered to fairly widespread, light to moderate rains in South-interior Karnataka. From October 1 to 9, Karnataka received 78 millimeters of rain, compared to 61 millimeters on average.
