Karnataka Health Minister States That Eligible Populations In Karnataka Will Be Vaccinated By 2021 End

The government of Karnataka has decided to vaccinate all those eligible people against covid 19 by November 2021. The Health Minister stated that that their mission is to vaccinate people by the end of November 2021. Their efforts mainly focus on vaccinating everybody by the end of the year. He was addressing the media about the receipt of two lakh doses of covishield from the pune based Serum Institute of India.

Accomplishment of vaccine drive will include first and second doses of all. The emphasis is on Covaxin produced by  Bharat Biotech, which is setting up its manufacturing unit in Malur in Kolar which will have a manufacturing capacity of four to five crore vaccines by August end. He also stated that the sputnik vaccine production may take place in Karnataka.

He shared that the production of vaccines in the state has instilled hope in the government of vaccinating all before any other state in the country. 

Health minister said that the state has placed two crore covishield vaccines to the Pune based Serum institute. Sudhakar also added that the second dose will soon be administered to those above the age of 45. 

Minister has told the media that the state has received 1.1 crore of vaccine doses from the centre. Karnataka has received 10.94 lakh doses as part of direct procurement from the manufactures comprising 9,50,000 covishield and covaxin. 

On Tuesday, 58,395 people had recovered in the state which is an encouraging trend. In total there has been a recovery of 16.74 lakh people. The government wants people to focus on the recovery rates rather than panicking about the number of infections. 

He showed appreciation towards the Covid appropriate behaviour of the people and decrease in the number of cases due to lockdown. The next aim of the government is to reduce the fertility rates by increasing the testing facilities. 

The centre has given 1,050 vials of Amphotericin B and more vials would come next week.
