Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy on Tuesday announced honorary and book awards for various categories of Konkani literature for the year 2021.
Dr Jagadish Pai, chairman of the academy, announced that the honorary awards for 2021 are awarded to Nagesh Anvekar for Konkani literature, Dinesh Prabhu Kollate for Konkani art, Madhav Kharvi for Konkani Folk(Janapada).
The Book awards for 2021 are awarded to Fr Jovian Vishwas Sequeira for his poem Laranchem Geeth, Gopalakrishna Pai for Konkani short story Love Letters Vajitalo Mataro and Henry Mendonca Pernal’s essays on Modern Konkani Poetry -Konkani Kavyem: Rupam ani Rupakam.
HM Pernal has published over 500 poems in the last 32 years. ‘Cholyank Chothrai’, ‘Bamunanchem Cheddum’ and ‘Kaidyachyo Kavita’ are the published anthologies of poems. Two collections of short stories were also published.
