On January 20, Udupi Deputy Commissioner M. Kurma Rao announced that the Malpe Beach Festival would last for three days. The South Canara District Central Cooperative Bank Ltd (SCDCC) sponsored “Udupi Rajatha Mahotsava Ratha” (a chariot on wheels), which began its journey in Udupi on Saturday. The DC said that for 25 days, the chariot on wheels will visit all coastal districts, educating people about the tourist attractions of Udupi.
For the next 25 years, the district administration has been developing plans and programmes for the district’s integrated growth. The advice provided by the experts will be noted and taken into consideration when creating future strategies. To advertise the district as a tourism destination, every effort shall be taken. The chariot featured audio-visual representations of Yakshagana, Kambala (a buffalo race on a muddy track), Daivaradhane (spirit worship), Huli Vesha (a tiger dance), temples in the Udupi district, and tourism attractions.
