Karnataka Minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports Dr Narayana Gowda, on Monday, released the list of Ekalavya, Karnataka Kreeda Ratna, Lifetime Achievement, Sports Sponsor awardees for the year 2020-21
Addressing the media persons at Vikasa Soudha, the minister said that 15 sportspersons will be honoured with Ekalavya Award, 14 with the Karnataka Kreeda Ratna award, 10 organizations with the Sports Sponsor award, and 2 with lifetime achievement.
Mangalore had a proud moment in the announcement of winners, As Mangalore boy, Ashwal Rai has been awarded the ‘EKLAVYA AWARD’. He is a Volley Ball Player, who also represents the Indian National Volleyball team & currently he is rated as the best blocker in Asia.
The awardees were chosen by the expert committee formed for the purpose, the minister said. The award ceremony will be held soon.
