The state’s education administration has started preparations to begin physical education lessons for grades 9 through 12 on August 23. It has also issued various instructions regarding hygiene, maintaining social distance, wearing masks, and immunization of teaching and non-teaching staff, among other things, to ensure the students’ health.
As per the deputy director of public instruction One of the requirements for schools to reopen is that the districts in which they are located have a positive rate of less than 2%. Physical lessons will not be held in the Dakshina Kannada area because the positive rate is above 2%, and school reopening has been postponed till August 28.
The deputy director of public instruction reported that the government has agreed to hold physical lessons for students in ninth and tenth grades if the Covid positive rate falls below 2%. However, while the positive rate in the Dakshina Kannada district remains above 2%, the district’s deputy commissioner has ordered that physical courses be postponed. However, online sessions will continue to be held as before.
