Mangalore slightly modifies the Covid Guidelines

In view of the reducing number of active cases in Dakshina Kannada, the government of Karnataka has given permission for the cinema theatres, multiplex, theatres and similar other places to function from October 1. The locations must strictly adhere to the COVID guidelines and have a seating capacity of 50%.

To regulate the number of cases in the coming festive season, the district administration is planning effectively to regulate the spread of infection.  Orders have been passed making certain additions and modifications to the restrictions and guidelines issued in the connection so far. When the positivity rate falls below 1%, the state government allows theatres and other institutions to operate at full capacity.However, in Dakshina Kannada, the TPR has never been less than 1%. Individuals with both doses of the vaccine will only be administered in these places. Senior citizens and pregnant women have been asked not to visit these places.

A night curfew will prevail between 10pm and 5am. It is necessary to have thermal screening at all entry points of places involving public gathering.  Rest rooms and toilets should be cleaned after every show. Pubs will also function on October 3, following all the COVID related guidelines. Checking at the entry points from Kerala will continue. In the event of a violation of the guidelines, the Deputy Commissioner has stated that strict action will be taken.
