During the last COVID pandemic, when the number of COVID positive cases were mounting, there was a short supply of liquid medical oxygen in the country. This set us thinking and today we are happy to say that K S Hegde Hospital has installed a 500 litre per minute capacity specially designed Oxygen Generator for medical use with PSA technology (Imported from DELTA-P, Italy) which is not only very safe and reliable, but compliant to international standards.
The entire unit was designed and assembled by the Maintenance Department of Nitte Deemed to be University in association with M/s Good Hope Healthcare, Mangalore. Nitte DU has invested more than Rs.75 lakhs in setting up this Oxygen Generator, as we believe our patients’ safety is of paramount importance.
With this new facility, we now can manage critically ill patients including COVID patients better, with an auto switch over hybrid oxygen supply comprising conventional oxygen cylinders, liquid medical oxygen and the newly installed PSA technology oxygen generator, without any fear of short supply of oxygen.
