On October 9, petrol and diesel prices climbed for the fifth day in a row, setting a new high. Petrol prices in the national capital have increased by 30 paise per litre, while diesel prices have increased by 35 paise per litre.
In many states, fuel and diesel costs have surpassed Rs 100 per litre, putting a strain on the average citizen’s wallet. For the past four days, the price of gasoline and diesel has been steadily rising, and the rates have reached an all-time high. On October 4, 2021, the price of gasoline and diesel stayed unchanged, but then increased.
Following the recent price revision, petrol costs Rs 103.84 per litre in Delhi and diesel costs Rs 92.47 per litre. On the other side, in India’s financial centre, Mumbai, petrol has increased by 29 paise a litre, making it the most expensive of the four metro cities. In Mumbai, one litre of diesel costs Rs 100.29, an increase of 37 paise.
Similarly, in Chennai, the price of petrol has increased by 26 paise per litre to Rs 101.27, and the price of diesel has climbed by 33 paise to Rs 96.93 per litre. In Kolkata, the prices of petrol and diesel are Rs 104.52 and Rs 95.58 per litre, respectively.
