He talked about the topic of Covid 19 billing by private hospitals during the conference held on Wednesday June 9. He noted that the government is responsible for paying just such amounts in relation to testing and treatment in Covid’s case. He requested the people to examine the charge specifics fully when they were released and to confirm it immediately.

The minister also noted that private hospitals cannot ask the patients who come to them for Covid therapy to pay advances. He stressed that 50 percent of beds for patients suggested by public health officials should be put aside by private entities. In the event of a breach, actions would be taken in accordance with the Karnataka Private Medical Establishment Act, which also stated that treatment package pricing for Covid was reached based on the government’s recommendation from the workforce committee. For CT scanning, Rs 1,500 from the BPL card holders can be collected, and Rs 2,500 from the others. Rs 250 might be charged for X-ray, he added. He further stated that Rs 5,200 per day for general wards, Rs 7,000 for HDU, Rs 8,500 per day for ICU without ventilators and Rs 10,000 for ICU with ventilators should be paid for patients having Ayushman cards and recommended to by public health officials. He stated charges might be assessed based on current facts for PPE and other consumer products.
