The southwest monsoon brought further rain to Bengaluru and other regions of coastal, Malnad, and inland Karnataka. In the next few days, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has issued red, orange, and yellow warnings in various regions of the state.
The coastal regions of Karnataka and parts of Malnad Karnataka have been given a red alert for severe to very heavy rains on July 17. Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, and Kodagu were among the districts affected. Many sections of the state, including the coastal and northern regions of Karnataka, such as Belagavi, Dharwad, and Haveri, have been notified on orange alert on Thursday and Friday.
Temperatures in Bengaluru are anticipated to drop to between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius, with thunderstorms and mild to moderate showers forecast in the state capital. As per CS Patil, Director, India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru, widespread rainfall is expected in the state at least till the end of this week.
