Special Drive For Voters’ List on Saturdays in Dakshina Kannada

The district administration will begin the special summary review of the electoral rolls on Saturday, according to M.R. Ravi Kumar, the deputy commissioner for Dakshina Kannada. On November 12, November 20, December 3, and December 4, the change would be made. The draught electoral rolls were released on Friday, and until December 8 claims and objections could be filed. The final rolls will be published on January 5, 2023, and claims and objections would be resolved by December 26, he said.

There are 17,08,955 electors on the draught rolls, 8.71,364 women and 8.37.527 men. On January 13, 2022, the final rolls were issued and contained 17.53.328 electors. Mangalore (Ullal) has the fewest voters (1,92,315), whereas Mangalore City North has the most (2,39.534). The district’s elector-to-population ratio was 72.48, which is considered to be a favourable ratio. While compiling the draught rolls, up to 29,410 new voters were added and 73.783 votes were removed.

The DC has asked voters to check the draught rolls posted at the jurisdictional polling officer, ceokarnataka.karnic.in, nsvp.in, or dk.nic.in, as well as by contacting the hotline 1950. A polling place with only 29 voters was cancelled, and those voters were moved to another polling place in the Mangaluru City North district.

This year, the Election Commission of India set four eligible dates for young people to register to vote. Young voters over the age of 17 might register their names a year in advance, and on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 their claims would be evaluated for inclusion in the rolls.
