Teams from Little Rock Indian School Brahmavar and Mount Carmel Central School won the Young World Quiz in Mangaluru.

Aadyanth Hegde and N.Y. Surjan from Little Rock Indian School in Brahmavar, Udupi, as well as Shantanu Vaibhav Anish and Vidyuth Ajith Soman from Mount Carmel Central School in Mangaluru, respectively, from Class 4 and Class 9 respectively, were named the junior and senior category winners of the 21st edition of The Hindu Young World Quiz competition on Thursday, February 16 at the Mizar Govinda Pai.

First and second runners up teams in the junior division were composed of students from Carmel School, Moodbidri, Class 5 students Rahul Jenson Pinto and Ayush Nitin Anchan, and Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Panambur, Class 6 students U.K. Adisankaran and Varun Bhat. The winning teams in the senior category were composed of Saksham Rai and Ahmed Ayad from St. Theresa’s School in Bendoor, Mangaluru, and Shiza Zainaba and Abirami Abhilash from Manipal School in Attavar, Mangaluru, classes 8 and 9. On Thursday, many students took part in The Hindu Young World quiz at Canara High School in Mangaluru.

Following a preliminary written round in which they responded to 25 questions, six teams from each of the junior (classes 4 to 6) and senior (classes 7 to 9) categories were selected to compete in the on-stage final round. Little Rock Indian School team won the competitive quiz in the junior division with a score of 95 points. The second-placed team from Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Panambur, earned 70 points, while the first-place team from Carmel School earned 85 points.

Rion Braggs and Adheesh from Sacred Hearts Primary English Medium School in Kulashekar, Mangaluru; Aanya Samrudhi and Nidhiksha K Sanil from St. Theresa’s School in Mangaluru; and Kuntadi Pratham Kini and Manish R. from Amrita Vidyalayam in Bolur, Mangaluru were the other participants on teams in the junior category finals.

Prizes were distributed by KIOCL Senior Manager (Human Resources) S. Murugesh and State Bank of India Deputy General Manager Joby Jose.

The State Bank of India presented the event. The event’s snack partner was UNIBIC, while the nutrition partner was Naturo and the beverage sponsor was Rasna. Center for Advanced Learning (CFAL) served as the event’s local sponsor.
