The Shiradi Ghat stretch of National Highway 75 has been approved for a Rs 1,200 crore project to expand it into four lanes. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) would take on the project and finish it in two years. The Chief Minister promised the NHAI full cooperation and prompt clearances.
The Shiradi Ghat serves as a vital connector between the coastal and hinterland regions. During the monsoon season, the road is generally in poor condition and inaccessible. The whole stretch of National Highway 75 between Bengaluru and Mangaluru will become a four-lane road once it is improved. The four-laning of the roadway on the ghat section between Marana Halli and Adda Hole would improve the region’s economic growth.
