South India’s inaugural Vande Bharat (VB) Express arrived 16 minutes early on the first day of its trial run on the Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru route. Many railfans recorded video and snapped photos of the train. Officials from the South Western Railway (SWR) and the Southern Railway (SR) also joined the excursion.
The VB train departed Chennai Central at 5:50am and arrived in KSR Bengaluru City and Mysuru at 10:21am and 12:14pm, respectively, ahead of schedule (scheduled time: 12.30pm). This indicates that it travelled the 504 kilometres (through Bengaluru) between Chennai and Mysuru in six hours and twenty-four minutes, with stops at the KSR Bengaluru City and Katpadi railway stations.
On Monday, November 22, 2007, the Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru Shatabdi Express left Chennai at 6:02 a.m., arrived at KSR Bengaluru City at 10.44 a.m., then stopped at Mysuru at 12:41 p.m. (scheduled: 1 p.m.)
