EVOLVE – An association of Women Entrepreneurs in Mangalore, the first-ever registered non-profit organization established to help and support women Entrepreneurs launch their first public event after its inauguration in November 2020.On the 20th of March, 2022, a Sunday morning, EVOLVE has planned to hold a walkathon for a special cause – To create the much-needed awareness of effective and sustainable Menstrual Heath management for women.

The event will be hosted by Decathalon, one of the main sponsors of the event, a one-stop shop for sporting goods in Mangalore based at Bharath mall, Mangalore along with the other main sponsor Earthy by Ellenza, a new trendy and widely popular all-natural aromatherapeutic skincare range. The event is slated to begin with a flag-off ceremony by Ms. Shreema Priyadarshini, an international athlete, fondly known as “Mangalore’s Golden girl “and also a Abakka Award recipient in 2019 -20. The registered participants for the Walkathon will then proceed towards Saibeen complex going up to PVS circle and taking a left to go towards Bunts hostel proceeding toward the United Toyota showroom and then returning back on the same route through PVS, Empire Mall, and then back to the finishing point at Bharath Mall. The participants will then be given refreshments that have been sponsored by Warm Oven, Baker’s Treat, and Raw Pressery. The closing ceremony will be graced by eminent guests Dr. Rajendra KV, the District Commissioner and District Magistrate, ACP ( Central ) Parameshwar Hegde, and Dr. Deepak Shedde, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. Participants of Walkathon to receive gift vouchers and prizes from over 20 top brands in Mangalore.

Kadri Park’s fountain and foot overbridge inaugrated

On Monday, January 23, MLA Vedavyas Kamath officially opened the foot overbridge over the lake, the fountain, and the development projects carried out by the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority.  The foot overbridge over the water and the fountain each cost Rs. 43.50 lacs to construct. At Kadri Park, two projects have been officially launched, and the framework for many more has already been established. MLA Vedavyas Kamath stated, "We are anticipating that the money will be provided anytime soon. A proposal has been made to the government for development work on the ponds at a cost of Rs 30 crore in Mangaluru North and South constituency.According to Vedavyas Kamath, a plan was created for the development of 25 ponds, 12 of which have already seen construction. Ravi Shankar Mijar, the head of MUDA, said: "Kadri Park's development has been given priority under MUDA.  Kadri Park's entrance and access road have been constructed.  At the same period, Kadri Park created a fountain and a foot overbridge.  Additionally, the development of 40 parks in Mangaluru North and 30 parks in Mangaluru South has been prioritised." The attendance included the mayor, Jayanand Anchan, the deputy mayor, Poornima, the former mayor, Premananda Shetty, the corporator, Shakeela Kava, Kishore Kottari, Hemalatha Raghu Salian, Sudheer Shetty Kannur, Pooja Pai, Nithin Kumar, and others.
