Start pressing Panic button (112), when you are in an emergency or feel helpless ,the Government is with you, The Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) envisages a single pan-India emergency number ‘112’, which is an internationally recognised number, to target all types of emergencies.
A Single Emergency number ‘112’ was launched in India in 2019 as India’s all in one Emergency helpline number. This Single Emergency number would provide immediate assistance to services like police,fire,health, womens safety and child protection.
Emergency number was earlier launched in only two states, but now available in all 36 states and union territories of India to get sudden assistance.
A single emergency number under the ERSS makes it easier for people travelling across the country, since they don’t have to remember the local emergency numbers of every place. As existing emergency numbers are integrators under 112. A ‘112 India’ App has also launched through which users can connect easily.

Single Emergency Number has been a great initiative by ERSS for the country’s safety. This can help a lot of people to communicate or seek help with trust within their fingertips also it’ll help further strengthen law & order in the state and particularly help the vulnerable sections of the society.
