All the RT-PCR checking booths that were functioning on the Kerala-Karnataka borders in the district were closed down by the Dakshina Kannada district administration.
T K Anil Kumar, principal secretary to the health department in Karnataka, had issued a circular taking off the negative RT-PCR report mandate for those who are arriving from Goa and Kerala. Then this decision was taken on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra said that the RT-PCR checking booths will be shut down. However, interstate check posts will be continued to verify the vaccination certificates of commuters from Kerala. He added that approximately 90% of the population have already been covered with two doses of vaccine.
