Dubai: The Emirate has established itself as the world’s first paperless government. The emirate has achieved the objectives outlined in the ‘Dubai Paperless Strategy,’ which was implemented in 2018. As a result of this effort, Dubai has saved approximately 1.3 billion dirhams (USD 350 million) and 14 million man-hours across the board.
The achievement of this goal marks the start of a new chapter in Dubai’s journey to digitize life in all of its forms, a journey marked by innovation, creativity, and a focus on the future, as per a statement released on Saturday by the emirate’s crown prince.
The Dubai Paperless Strategy was implemented in five phases, including 45 government institutions providing over 1,800 digital services and over 10,500 important transactions. Collaboration and integration among participating businesses allowed for the automation of processes and services provided to customers, resulting in a reduction in paper usage of approximately 336 million pages.
