With 3,007 cases documented, India’s count of the highly transmissible Omicron strain has surpassed 3,000. The fast-spreading strain has now been discovered in 27 of the country’s states, including Maharashtra and Delhi, with omicron being the hardest hit.
On January 7, India’s daily COVID-19 total passed the 1000 mark, with 1,17,100 new instances detected in the previous 24 hours. With the recovery of 30,836 patients in the last 24 hours, the total number of Covid patients recovered since the outbreak began currently stands at 3,43,71,845. The recovery rate is currently at 97.57 percent.In the previous 24 hours, the country has seen 302 more deaths, bringing the total death toll to 4,83,178.
