Weekend Curfew has been Cancelled by Karnataka Govt. The night curfew between 10 pm-5 am will continue in the state to decrease the spread of coronavirus. The relaxation will take place against the backdrop of the state’s low hospitalization rate. The meeting was held today regarding the same at 1:30 p.m today.

After consulting with experts, the state government decided on the COVID-19 guidelines and relaxation. The typical perception is that the illness is similar to the flu, and there isn’t much hospitalization, so day-to-day activities may be tolerated if COVID standards are followed. Experts are looking into the matter closely.

All other restrictions will continue to remain in force: 

• The Weekend curfew imposed from Friday 10 pm to Monday 5 am in the State is here with withdrawn. However, Night Curfew will continue to be imposed from 10 pm to 5 am in the entire state as per the existing guidelines on all days. This measure will be further reviewed based on the number of cases and hospitalization. 
• It is reiterated that all rallies, dharnas, congregations, etc, including social, religious, political protests, a procession of any sort including but not restricted social, religious, political, etc, are strictly prohibited. However, Marriage functions are permitted to be conducted involving not more than 200 people in open spaces and 100 people in closed places strictly adhering to COVID 19 appropriate behavior and prevailing guidelines issued by the State Government. 
• It is reiterated that Pubs/clubs/restaurants/bars/hotels/eating places in hotels etc, will function with 50% of the seating capacity strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behavior, and entry to such places will be restricted to fully vaccinated persons. Cinema Halls/multiplexes/theatres/rangamandiras/auditoriums and similar places operate with 50% of their seating capacity strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behavior and entry to such places will be restricted to fully vaccinated persons. 
• The intensive surveillance at the border of Maharashtra, Kerala, and Goa states shall continue as per the prevailing circular/guidelines issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka.
