LPG Cylinder Price Hiked By Rs 50

From May 7 onwards a 14.2-kg non-subsidised domestic gas cylinder will cost Rs 999.50 per cylinder as the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was hiked by Rs 50 per cylinder on Saturday.  This is the first increase in LPG rates since early October.

After the latest price hike, a 14.2-kg non-subsidised LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 999.50 in Delhi and Mumbai, while in Kolkata, a customer will have to pay Rs 1,026. In Chennai, the prices have been increased to Rs 1,015.50 and in Lucknow, it will now cost Rs 1,037.50.

Earlier on May 1, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders were increased by around Rs 102 to Rs 2355.50. The hike in cylinder prices will create more trouble as people are already concerned by the rising prices of petrol and diesel in the country.

The recent price hike in petrol and petroleum products is due to a sharp increase in global energy prices as a result of the Russia-Ukraine crisis that has led to supply chain constraints.
