The bronze monument of Kedambadi Ramayya Gowda, a renowned freedom fighter who rallied farmers against the British in 1837, will be unveiled on November 19 at Bavutagudda by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Adichunchanagiri Mutt Chief Dr Nirmalananda Maha Swamiji.
At a planning meeting on Friday, November 11, at the MCC’s Mangala Auditorium, MLA D Vedavyas Kamath provided this information. He announced that a gathering would take place at the Nehru Maidan football fields, with some 25,000 people expected to attend. “On this occasion, the CM will also lay the groundwork for a number of projects,” he continued.
According to Kamath, the MCC, Kannada, and Culture Departments would organise the event in collaboration with a number of other departments. He stated that a number of ministers from the Union, the State, and elected officials would participate.
There were several people in attendance, including Mayor Jayananda Anchan, Deputy Mayor Poornima, MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar, and DCP (Traffic and Crime).
