Udupi: Winter special trains will run on the Konkan railway route

Konkan Railway has introduced customised trains during the winter season in an effort to lessen the passenger rush.

From December 9 through January 6, 2023, every Friday, train number 01453—a special weekly train—will run between Lokmanya Tilak Terminal and Mangaluru Junction. At 10.15 p.m. on Friday, the train will leave Lokamanya Tilak Terminal, and it will arrive at Mangaluru Junction at 5.05 p.m. on Saturday.

The Mangaluru Junction-Lokmanya Tilak Terminal special train, number 01454, runs in the opposite direction. It leaves Mangaluru Junction every Saturday at 6.45 p.m. and arrives at Lokmanya Tilak Terminal on Sunday at 2.25 p.m. From December 10 to 2023 January 7 this unique train will operate.

There will be stops made by this 17-bogy train at the following stations: Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiploon, Sangameshwara Road, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sindhu Durg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Tivim, Karmali, Madgaon Junction, Karwar, Gokarna Road, Kumta, Murudeshwara, Bhatkal, and Mookambika.

It will make stops at the following stations: Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiploon, Sangameshwara Road, Ratnagiri, Rajapura Road, Vaibhavavadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhu Durg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Tivim, and Karmali. This train has 17 compartments.
