Agriculturist Sudarshan Kote, owner of Girikripa Farm in Kalanja, is spraying pesticides with drone technology. Normal situations are also likely to benefit from this technology because there aren’t enough labourers to do the job. Multiplex M created the drone that is utilised for the task. It features a tank with a 10-litre capacity. The drone weighs 25 kg in total once the insecticide is full.

Within 15 minutes, ten litres of pesticides can cover half an acre of farmland. The insecticide is sprayed on the leaves of arecanut trees by a drone flying above them. In places like Sringeri, this technology has already been put to use.

Pesticides can be sprayed using drone technology, but only on the leaves and not directly on the bunch of arecanuts. The arecanut growers will greatly profit if changes are implemented. After some time has passed, the outcome of this kind of spraying needs to be evaluated. Using a drone to spray pesticides is less expensive and time-consuming. The machine is currently in great demand in the Dakshina Kannada district.
