Kudla Girl Madhu Mailankody from VJ, Star Sports Anchor to starring alongside Nayantara in Tamil Movie “Mookuthi Amman”

Madhu Mailankody was born as the second daughter of Savithri G Bhat and M Ganapathi Bhat in a village called Perdala off of Badiyadka town in Kasaragod district. She moved to Mangalore to pursue her education in St Agnes College and St Aloysius College and from then, Mangalore has been home. 

Her journey started out of feeling rejected. She joined for her Masters degree in Media and Communication to pursue a career in Public relations in the hope that she would get adequate training to specialise in the above. Unfortunately, non- television hosting was not a part of the curriculum that urged one to choose between print media and broadcast media and she did not see herself enjoying either. Dejected that her dreams were not supported by the stream she chose, she decided to take a break from college for a few days. That’s when her friend came with the silver lining in her darkened clouds by suggesting that she host a talent hunt in a few colleges for a corporate brand. Being familiar with anchoring and having done voice overs in school, she decided to give it a shot. She did the event for ten days and she received her first cheque and even landed more offers to host other events of various brands. And she decided to take the unconventional route and quit college. She planned on taking the day as it comes. She took up hosting offers and happiness followed. 

She has made a name for herself in sports broadcasting and anchoring. Over the years, she has hosted many events  including ‘Tulu Nadu”. Her multilingual skills have made her famous among keen viewers who prefer watching Star Sports 1 Kannada over other channels only to listen to her. Even when the sports industry was dominated by men, Madhu Mailankody was not one to give up owing to being different. She believes that talent, commitment, dedication are what matters and what will count in the long run. She takes up many roles including that of a wedding planner to event maker to sports presenter. Whatever be her role, she does it to the best of her abilities.
