KSRTC Buses To Run In All Villages Of Puttur, Beltangady, Sullia

As efforts to connect the roads of Puttur, Beltangady and Sullia taluks are being completed soon, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has decided to commence its new unit in these places. All the villages of these taluks will be connected by KSRTC buses according to the plans initiated by the same.

According to plans by Sanjeeva Matandoor, the local MLA, a KSRTC second depot will be established in these regions to facilitate connectivity to all villages. In his efforts, he has requested the revenue department for sanctioning of 1.5 acres of government site within a distance of 3 kilometres from the KSRTC bus stand for the same.

The KSRTC divisional office at Puttur has been focusing on rural areas and facilitates the functioning of five KSRTC depots. Unfortunately due to a few technical difficulties, new buses cannot be employed to new routes. This is why the second KSRTC depot unit is necessary. If the second unit becomes a reality, the region will get additional buses, better parking facilities, maintenance centres as well as administrative systems. In turn, the additional buses can be run in all the 3 taluks and additional buses or routes can be sanctioned in other villages where buses are scarce.

Both Mangalore and Puttur KSRTC are divided into five depots. Kundapur as well as Udupi regions have KSRTC depots. Puttur, Bantwal, Sullia, Dharmasthal and Madikeri.are the names of the depots under the Puttur division. Commencement of a second unit will aid in services like better roads, whether new ones or better construction, to reach these areas.

The matter has been discussed with the KSRTC divisional controller, KSRTC chairman and transport minister, Laxman Savadi, assured MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor. He also mentioned that steps towards this positive change will take place soon.
