With the surge of new mutant variants of Covid -19, the Union Health Ministry has set forth novice guidelines for the travellers arriving from foreign. The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be in effect from February 22nd, until any further updates.
Latest SOPs issued is that all foreign travellers arriving via flights from the UK,Europe and the Middle East have to reveal their travel history, in the quarantine of 14 days.Others norms include the submission of self -declaration(SDF) for Covid on the Air Suvidha portal prior to scheduled travel by all international travellers.
The international passengers also have to upload a negative Covid-19, RT-PCR report on the online portal www.newdelhiairport.in. The RT-PCR should be conducted within 72 hours before the boarding, also individuals have to submit a declaration authenticating the report.
Thermal screening will be done at the time of boarding allowing asymptomatic travellers to board. Wearing masks throughout the journey in flight with social distancing standards is mandatory. Downloading Arogya Setu App is part of the presaid guidelines.
The same protocols holds good for international travellers arriving via sea and landports. The procedure of online registry is not yet available for the sea and land port passengers, says the civil aviation ministry guidelines. In-flight separation of passengers arriving from or transiting via the UK, Brazil and South Africa has to be done by the respective Airlines. Also individuals from or via UK, Europe or Middle East mandatorily will be subjected to molecular tests on arriving at the Indian Airports that is the concerned port entry.
So the passengers from Europe and Middle East shall give samples at the designated area before exiting the port. Based on the results of the test the standard procedures will be followed. Positive result will lead to treatment as per standard norms and negative individuals have to self monitor their health for 14 days duration.
Suspension on scheduled international flight operation from 23rd March continues. International flights to and fro India run on air-bubble agreements with varied countries. On the other hand the Domestic Flights have resumed their operations from May 25th, just after the lift of lockdown.
