No exams, 1st to 9th students to be promoted

As per the education minister, S Suresh Kumar the students of 1-9 will be promoted without exams based on evaluation correction. This decision has been taken owing to the spike in Covid cases in the state, in speculation of the further chaos due the second wave Covid pandemic. The assessment has to be completed within April 30th for the students from 1-9th to be promoted. This assessment has to be done purely on CCE(continuous comprehensive evaluation) without having to physically attend any exams. The assessment via CCE will act as a tool to find the shortcomings and gaps in the learning system which will be filled by the bridge courses the following year.

The students from 1-5 have not attended any offline classes. So all students from 1-5 must be promoted. Whereas the students of 6-9th standard have attended both online as well as offline classes and they should be promoted as per their performance during these sessions, interactions, homework, projects and learning capabilities.

Summer holidays for 1-7th students is planned from May 1 to June 14,and the 8-9th students will have summer holidays from May 1 to July 15.The SSLC exams will be held from June 21 to July 5. This decision may be modified as per Covid norms and safety.

As of now verbal order but the education minister has been passed. On the other hand the SSLC and PU board exams will be conducted as scheduled by the education department.
